Partnerships are core to Housing Virginia’s mission.  Affecting change in perception at the local and regional levels begins with local committed leaders who can tell the story.

Our services are geared to two major areas:
  • Technical Assistance
    • What we’re looking for:
      • Formal organizational structure, or including at least two partner organizations
      • “Not for profit” organization or governmental
      • Supports expansion of affordable housing
      • Mission is compatible with Housing Virginia
      • Interested in changing public policy regarding affordable housing and having a long term impact
      • Interested in growth/development of the organization – strategy for sustainability
      • Access to staff support or designated responsible individual
      • Ability to raise funds for educational efforts

  • Funding for Special Projects
    • What we’re looking for:
      • Formal organizational structure
      • In existence for at least one year
      • Meets regularly
      • “Not for profit” organization - 501 (c) (3) or governmental
      • Includes several members and not dominated by a single industry group or member
      • Supports expansion / enhancement of affordable housing
      • Mission is compatible with HV and broadly formed – not focused at a single interest group or issue
      • Interest in changing public policy regarding affordable housing
      • Interest in regional expansion / and or alliances
      • Access to staff support
      • Demonstrated ability to raise funds for educational efforts
      • Has an identified, written educational program / strategy / “campaign” that includes:
        • Assessment of housing needs
        • Housing issues to be addressed
        • Target audience
        • Methods to be used
        • Specific/achievable goals and objectives
        • Evaluation methods
